Lizzy & David
David & Lizzy love the life they live, and live the life they love: traveling, camping, photographing, and hanging out with the grandchildren...
Summer 2017 two house & car exchanges in Europe. We loved our two months in Spain photographing Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante, Cadiz, Seville, Cordoba, Granada, and Madrid. Then another month on the Rhine photographing Bonn, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Belgium.
Autumn 2016 in New Zealand’s Spring, cold, cloudy, rainy, bad internet, and we still managed to snap some great new material from Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington, Napier, Hamilton, and Auckland.
Summer 2015: Across Canada & the Maritimes for Juxtaposition – Urban Concept Art. 4 months, 25,000 km, 15,000 photographs.
Autumn 2014: spring in New Zealand for birthdays: 60, 60, 40, and 0 (newest grandbaby). Finished off Dereliction in Otago & the West Coast.
June & July 2014 we spent one week on Alberta gravel roads, plus a five week road trip into Saskatchewan, searching for Dereliction – Colours of Abandonment, our new exhibition. The Bone House was gone…
June 2013 we spent two weeks reconnoitering abandoned Saskatchewan for Dereliction – found the Bone House – it’s fascinating what’s been left behind, as if there was intention to return, but sometimes not enough room for even one last suitcase…
March 2013 just 6 weeks in New Zealand. Drove the narrow, rugged Skippers Canyon (home to bungee jumping, rental cars prohibited) and to Nevis across the highest public road in NZ. Found dilapidated old cars, trucks, and gold mine ruins for Corrosion. Explored Rotorua thermal areas for extraordinarily peculiar colours and formations for IonH2O.
September 2012 over 5 weeks we traveled 5000 km for 5000 photographs of Corrosion, out through some dusty and daring BC back-roads: Lillooet, 23% grade High Bar Road, Freedom Highway, Bella Coola, Vancouver Island, Crowsnest Highway. Visited Greenwood, Silverton, and Sandon ghost towns… Simply amazing!
